  • Mrs Gillan returns to school on Friday 26th October after her maternity leave. Unfortunately, this means we say goodbye to Miss McGowan who has done a fantastic job in her absence.

  • Photograph orders should be returned to school with payment by Mon 1st October
  • Shorts are not suitable for PE as the weather is getting colder and pupils have to go outside at break time in their PE gear. Tracksuit bottoms or leggings only.
  • Children may bring in a small toy from home (no electronics) on a Friday. They may also bring in a small treat to eat with their lunch ie a bar of chocolate or a small packet of crisps or sweets. Multipacks and extra-large bags are not allowed.
  • Reminder: Children should only bring water in to school to drink.
  • Unfortunately, there were insufficient numbers to hold the AGM of the Friends of St Olcan’s on Tuesday evening so the AGM will now be held on Tuesday 2nd October at 7pm in the school. We’d love to see some new members and representatives from each class on our committee. Meetings usually last about 45mins and take place 1-2 times per term. However, if attendance is still poor then the future of the group is in jeopardy.
  • Cash for clobber collection on Wednesday 3rd October. Bags of old/unwanted clothing can be left in school from Friday 28th September. All bags should be in school by Tuesday 2nd October as they will be collected at 7:30am on Wednesday morning
  • Sponsorship forms have been sent out today for our dance-a-thon on Friday 28th September. Each family has been given a sponsor form. Thanks in advance for your support. Money raised will be used to fund new books for the Accelerated Reading Programme.

Sat 2nd June ·      First Communion @10am.

·      P4 children and the choir should be seated by 9:45am. There will be reserved seating for parents/siblings.

·      Refreshments in the parish hall afterwards. Everyone welcome.

·      Pastries can be left in the Parish Hall from 9am. Those parents who’ve offered to help should be there by 9:30am.

·      Photographs will be taken in the parish hall and should be paid for on the day. Photographs are £10 each or 3 of the same print for £20.

Mon 4th June ·      Sports Day @10am.

·      Pupils may be taken to the pitch directly for 10am or come to the school beforehand.

·      Any parent who can help with transport should come to the school for 9:30am. Pupils should wear a hat and bring a bottle of water.  Sunscreen should be applied if necessary.

Wed 6th June ·         P6 Drama workshop at Cross and Passion from 9:30-11:30am. A snack will be provided.
Fri 8th June ·         Cumann naBunscoil hurling competition in Dunloy. The competition starts at 9:30am and pupils should be back in school for 2pm.

·         P1/2 Shared education Celebration assembly in Tilly Molloy’s at 10am. Everyone welcome.

·         Leavers assembly @11am. Leavers assembly is for parents and relatives of P7 pupils only.  Due to increased attendance at Prize Day and larger numbers in the school it is no longer possible to hold a whole school prize day. Our school hall is simply not large enough to accommodate everyone who wishes to attend and this poses a health and safety risk. Prizes will be presented to children at a school assembly.  Thanks for your understanding in this matter.

  • Cumann naBunscoil hurling blitz has been rescheduled for Friday 25th May. Although school is closed for pupils, Mrs McAuley is still happy to take the children to the competition. Please inform the school if your child can still take part and if you can help with transport. Thank you.

  • Our ‘Dine together’ event was a fantastic success, raising £1120. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so successful. A special word of thanks to Catriona McKendry who supplied all the food and who was the main driving force behind the event. Thanks also to Claire Hunter and the Marine Hotel who provided table cloths, cutlery and serving dishes.
  • All children should wear full school uniform every day except P2/3 on their PE days. P4-7 should change into their PE gear in school. If there is a reason why your child isn’t wearing their school uniform, please send a note into their class teacher. Thank you for your co-operation
  • All children should be in class before 8:50am. Latecomers are recorded on the register.

  • Thank you to the Feetham family who disposed of the 2 flower beds at back of school which had fallen into disrepair. It involved a lot of hard work and we are extremely appreciative of their efforts.
