·         Leavers assembly @11am. Leavers assembly is for parents and relatives of P7 pupils only.  Due to increased attendance at Prize Day and larger numbers in the school it is no longer possible to hold a whole school prize day. Our school hall is simply not large enough to accommodate everyone who wishes to attend and this poses a health and safety risk. Prizes will be presented to children at a school assembly.  Thanks for your understanding in this matter.

  • Cumann naBunscoil hurling blitz has been rescheduled for Friday 25th May. Although school is closed for pupils, Mrs McAuley is still happy to take the children to the competition. Please inform the school if your child can still take part and if you can help with transport. Thank you.

  • Our ‘Dine together’ event was a fantastic success, raising £1120. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so successful. A special word of thanks to Catriona McKendry who supplied all the food and who was the main driving force behind the event. Thanks also to Claire Hunter and the Marine Hotel who provided table cloths, cutlery and serving dishes.
  • All children should wear full school uniform every day except P2/3 on their PE days. P4-7 should change into their PE gear in school. If there is a reason why your child isn’t wearing their school uniform, please send a note into their class teacher. Thank you for your co-operation
  • All children should be in class before 8:50am. Latecomers are recorded on the register.

  • Thank you to the Feetham family who disposed of the 2 flower beds at back of school which had fallen into disrepair. It involved a lot of hard work and we are extremely appreciative of their efforts.
  • Rugby open day due to be held on Monday 26th March has been cancelled due to the closure of Armoy rugby club.

  • Thanks to Anna Douthart who provided all the pancakes for breakfast club on Pancake Tuesday
  • During Lent each class will hold a small raffle with all the proceeds going to Trocaire. Tickets 20p each
  • The raised flowerbeds at the back of the school have fallen in to disrepair and are becoming dangerous. We require volunteers to help us dispose of these safely. Please contact the school if you are able to help
  • Advance notice: St Olcan’s Dine Together on Saturday 21st April in St Olcan’s Parish Hall. There will be a selection of dishes prepared by Catriona McKendry and a DJ to provide entertainment. BYOB. Please fill in the reply slip on the accompanying letter so that we can gauge interest.

  • As part of their shared reading club, P1/2 will be going to Waterstones bookshop in Coleraine. The bus will leave school at 9am and return by 12 noon. They will be given a £10 book voucher to spend so they don’t require any spending money.

  • Catholic Schools Week 2018 will run from Sunday 28th January to Saturday 3rd February. The theme this year is ‘Families of Faith’. All classes will be doing activities around this theme.
  • On Friday 2nd February all children will attend Mass at the chapel. Children should be there for 9am and if possible collected at 9:30am and brought back to school. Children who don’t have transport should be sent to school as normal and will be taken to the chapel by a member of staff.
  • Congratulations to Orlaith Breen, Mary McArthur, David McClean and Ella McKinley who represented the school so well at the Credit Union Quiz in Ballycastle.
  • P1/2 trip to Waterstones Book shop on Monday 12th February. Each child will have £10 to spend on a book of their choice. No other money is required. Please sign the permission slip if you wish your child to go on this trip.

                                                                                                                    Christmas concert

  • School will close for all children at 2pm on Wednesday 13th December to allow staff to make final preparations for the Christmas concert.
  • Children should be in school by 6:30pm and the concert will begin at 7pm.
  • Thank you for all contributions towards the Christmas Hampers.
  • Any unsold raffle tickets should be returned to school by Tuesday morning (12th December) so that they can be sold at the concert on the 13th December.
  • The children will remain with their teachers for the duration of the concert. They will all receive a drink and snack in school during the interval.
  • Refreshments will be served at the interval
  • Thank you to Catriona and Anna who have provided the festive treats at the interval.
  • Members of the audience are requested NOT to block the central aisle or fire door. The aisle will be clearly marked and will be used by P6/7 during their performance.
  • Children should be collected from the school after the concert.

  •  Any child whose 4th birthday falls on or before 1st July 2018 will have reached compulsory school and is eligible for admission to P1 in September 2018.
